A more official date

 The book has moved into production, and the publisher's schedule has the printed book in their warehouses at the end of February, so I'm going to start saying "March 2026."

Goodbye MS Word???

I just finished the edits requested by the development editor. This included my bio, acknowledgements, and preface.

The acknowledgements were not easy. As usual, I started out with 50% more than I should have, and had to edit edit edit. But I think I have all the main players' names in there at least once. Two people were listed in different sections THREE TIMES! I didn't want that to go to their heads. ;-)

The only thing missing is the Foreword, which will be from a popular author and old friend of mine. I'd tell you who but I don't want anyone pestering him! 🤣 We've given him to the end of September to finish. Pretty sure I know what he'll say about TDD (and it will be compelling!) and hope he'll include something nice about moi.

The draft goes back to the dev editor now, and I think (unless he finds more stuff for me to fix) it goes to production next. They may request changes, but I think the files will be in a different format at that point.

I'm looking forward to *not* using MS Word to write a book.

Ten YEARS!

 Someone just asked me how long I've been working on this book. 

It was greenlit on 06 July 2015, and I signed the contract on 04 September 2015. 

Since I started working on it while negotiating the contract, it's fair to say I started it on the 8th of July 2015. At least, that will be my headcanon! Why? Because today is the 10th anniversary of that start-date, and...

...today is the day I'm handing off the final draft to the development editor!

So...10 years "exactly." (With a margin of error +- a few days.)

 Wrapping up the Introduction! (Often the last chapter to be written, interestingly enough.) Sent chapter word-counts and sample chapter to my editor so she can shop it to a few development editors. I think this means we're on-track for a Q4 2025 pub date!
